Stay Focused and Be Calm
Badminton is considered a mind game, staying focused can give you an idea on what does the other player will do.
Keep in mind that you must be patient in approaching the hits of you opponent especially the lobs, keep a sharp eye if your opponent will hit the ball it can be a hard smash, a fake smash or just a drop ball.
Panicking in the court will never help you, it is a hindrance for your quick thinking and retrieving the ball, be calm and stay in the game.
Many of the players are minding whats around, its wrong! Imagine that the persons around is you, your opponent, team mates and coach, don't mind the boos and ugly comments around you.
Pile up your Stamina
Having lots of energy can make you stay focused, its one of the key in winning a game when you are tired you can't be able to think well and you will be manipulated by your opponent.

When I was a college player my coach always ask me to eat at least 3 bananas 2 hours before the game because banana is reach in Potassium that can help you in preserving more energy.
Exercise
Building muscles is related to building reserves, again when I was in college my coach gave us free coupons for gyms and required us to go there at least 6 hours per week and as far as i know those national team players spend at least 5 hours a day doing exercises.
Resting
Of course, we should not forget about having enough sleep and not tiring your brains before a game s another key in preserving energies.
Be smart
Manipulating your opponent will make you win, you can do this by being smart and making your opponent follow your hits, its like making your opponent as your puppet and will follow you whatever you want him to do.
Making them run errands by placing your shots where he will have hard time retrieving your hits.

On court Playing Tips
Here are some of my Tips and tricks that i use in playing:
- Warm up first before playing, it can make you loosen up stiff muscles.
- Hand shake position is one of the recommended way of holding the racket.
- Tall persons are having a hard time hitting the ball on his body level.
- When your opponent is left handed, the area where it is hard for him to get the ball is in his upper right part, just make lots of drop there.
- Right handed persons found it hard to hit a ball on his left foot.
- Act like you are smashing the ball but you will just drop it.
